Alex Cruden assists McConnell Communications with proofing, media training and copywriting. I retired in 2008 since then I have worked as an editor, writer and media trainer for a variety of non-newspaper clients as chief editor of the copy desks for the Detroit Free Press, after working at the newspaper since 1973. A charter member of the American Copy Editors Society, Cruden has led more than 165 seminar sessions for copy editors and other journalists.
